This 1984 Porsche 944 shows just over 45k miles, and was reportedly driven by the original owner in Ohio until 2014. The selling dealer purchased the car from the second owner in October 2015, and subsequently sold it to a client in Florida. The dealer re-acquired the vehicle five months ago, and the timing belt and engine oil have been replaced within the last 1k miles. Power comes from a naturally-aspirated 2.5L inline-four paired with a 5-speed rear-mounted transaxle. The seller states that the car was well cared-for under previous owners, and a large binder of service receipts formerly accompanied the car but unfortunately was misplaced by the previous owner. This 944 is now offered by the selling dealer in Illinois with a clean Florida title and includes a car cover and a vinyl bra.
Around a dozen stone chips are visible on the nose, and most have been filled in. Isolated chips and small scratches are detailed in gallery close-ups
Staggered-width 15″ Fuchs alloys were available from the factory. The centers show some paint loss, though the rims are free of curbing. Michelin Pilot XGT V4 tires are equipped at all corners.
The first-generation 944 dash featured aluminum appliqué and analog VDO instruments with hi-vis lettering, including a clock and oil pressure gauge mounted in the center stack. The A/C was recharged in 2014 is is said to blow cold, though the heater is currently non-functioning. 45,432 miles are shown.
Leather seat covers show some creasing and light abrasion along the driver’s seat back bolster. Aftermarket drilled pedals have been installed.
An aftermarket speaker box with an Alpine amplifier can be found under the rear hatch. The retractable cargo cover remains in place.
The 2.5L M44/02 inline-four is paired with a rear-mounted 5-speed transaxle, and produced 150 hp when new. In 2014, brake fluid was flushed, and a new distributor and clutch slave cylinder were installed. The timing belt has been replaced within the last 1,000 miles, and an oil service was conducted in preparation for sale.
