BaT Auction: 25K-Mile 1995 Land Rover Discovery

This 1995 Land Rover Discovery is a stock dual-sunroof example that has been with the same family since new and currently shows 25k indicated miles. The seller’s grandfather purchased the truck from Land Rover of Barrington, Illinois and drove it sparingly until his recent passing. Power comes from a 3.9-liter V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the first notable service reportedly consisted of a recent replacement of the front swivel balls and seals. The truck has also received a new battery, drivetrain fluids, and front brakes. This first-generation Discovery is sold with its original window sticker and owner’s manual, clean AutoCheck report, and clear Illinois title.

Alpine White paint is described by the seller as in good overall condition and is shown under multiple lighting conditions below. Blemishes include a small mark on the passenger side from a run-in with a bank drive-thru pillar. Rust is shown in both rear door jambs, some of which has been painted over.

A walk-around video is provided above. Factory 16″ 5-spoke wheels are mounted with brand new 235/70 General Grabber AT2 tires.

Power comes from a factory 3.9-liter V8, which sends power through a ZF 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission and to all four wheels via an LT230 transfer case and manually-locking center differential. Recent work includes a new battery and replacement of the power steering hose & seals, engine coolant, and engine oil. A multi-point inspection was conducted as well, and no issues were found.

A video of the engine running is provided above, while start-up and short driving videos can be found here and here.
